Following the success of the Manchester Hari Raya Aidil Fitri Party in Manchester, another party to celebrate Hari Raya Aidil Adha was held there on Sunday 23rd December 2007. More than 100 adults and children have fun on the day.

Melayu diaspora sudah berkembang ke seluruh dunia. Selain dari yang terdapat di nusantara, komuniti di Melayu di beberapa buah negara di dunia seperti di Sri Lanka, Surinam, Belanda, Afrika Selatan dan tidak ketinggalan di United Kingdom (UK). Walaupun diaspora Melayu tidaklah sehebat diaspora India dan Cina, tetapi taburan komuniti Melayu di seluruh dunia sudah cukup menggambarkan keunikan dan keistimewaannya yang tersendiri.

Melayu UK is currently expanding at a very encouraging rate. This can be shown by the response we had in the regional Hari Raya open house / party held in Bicester and Manchester recently. As our numbers have grown big, it is also appropriate for us to organise more regional activities.

It is also our intention that Melayu UK will be organising our own activities even in areas with large concentration of Malaysian students so as to encourage Malaysian students to interact with our members. To facilitate this, we have introduced new post of Students Liaison Officers.

Ahli Jawatan Kuasa Melayu UK, Ahli Jawatan Kuasa Melayu UK Youth serta wakil-wakil kawasan mengucapkan Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir dan Batin kepada semua warga Melayu UK. Semoga hari dan bulan yang mulia ini dapat mengeratkan lagi persaudaraan sesama kita serta meningkatkan komitmen kita untuk mengukuhkan persatuan kita, bak kata pepatah "Yang berat sama dipikul, yang ringan sama dijinjing".
