Membership is divided into 2 categories:
Full membership - members have the right to vote and to hold post in the society. Members will be required to pay the membership fee which will be decided by the committee. Full membership is open to Malays who have been given "indefinite leave to remain in the UK", have "right of abode" and British citizens of Malay descend and their spouses.
Associate membership - associate members do not have voting rights and are not eligible to hold office in the society. Associate membership is open to all that fall in the target group.
Activities, however, will be open to those who have an interest in Malay development and culture regardless of whether they are eligible for membership or not.
