We have now set up a forum for Melayu UK at http://forum.melayu.org.uk. This forum is NOT a replacement for the Melayu UK Yahoo Groups. Amongst the reasons for the forum are:

1. From time to time the committee members get emails from non-members on various issues. In many cases, the queries are similar apart from being asked by different people at different time. The committee members do not have the time to answer all queries. The forum allows the public to post the questions and any registered user can answer them.

2. Many members hate the irrelevant emails sent to them via the Melayu UK Yahoo Group. The forum allows postings to be made without any email being sent to the Melayu UK Yahoo Group. Postings can only be viewed by going the the forum website http://forum.melayu.org.uk . Those who want their message to reach Melayu UK members should use the Melayu UK Yahoo Group.

3. The forum will allow advertisement of small scale / home-based business, accommodation etc which can benefit members and non-members.

4. Non-Melayu UK events can be advertised on the forum.

5. As more postings are added, the forum will be a useful information resource for members and non-members.

We are still working to improve the forum. However the lack of manpower can cause delay in responding to any comment or request for modification.

Please start registering on the forum and let others know about it as well.
