MISG-ABIM UK & Eire donated 10 Iqra' books (fast method to read the Quran) to the Cheshire Unit Keluarga. A brief ceremony was held on 4th August 2007, on the second day of Melayu UK annual Perhimpunan Keluarga, where Qurratul Akyun Daud (Secretary) handed over the books to Yaqub Allen, head of the Cheshire Unit Keluarga. MISG-ABIM has also pledged to assist our Unit Keluarga.

Melayu UK will provide an online resource for members of Unit Keluarga. Access to the resource will be restricted to members of Unit Keluarga only. This service will be launched in August 2007 Insha'Allah.

2 hafizs who graduated from Darul Qur'an JAKIM Malaysia, Ustaz Tarmizi and Ustaz Faidhi, were the guests of Melayu UK for 1 month from 11 February to 11 March 2007. Their visit was to give them experience in working with the Malay community in the UK and at the same time also benefitting our members. Amongst the tasks they have accomplished were:

• Meeting with members in the Oxfordshire catchment area
• Discussion with second generation Malays

The second Unit Keluarga was formed today when members in the West Midlands area held their first meeting. Members plan to meet once every 3 weeks.

Members from the Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire area today had their first Unit Keluarga meeting. The meeting held at Milton Keynes was a success and members have pledged to meet regularly.
