Discussion Focus: With many activities occurring amongst the Malay-Muslim community, has enough work been done by the Malay-Muslim community to outreach to the non-Muslim community to dispel the many misconceptions of Islam?

Student Speaker 1: The Malay Muslim community does not do enough work to outreach to the non-Muslim community and as a result too often claims that there’s discrimination against Muslims.

Student Speaker 2: The Malay Muslim community does a lot of work to outreach to the non-Muslim community in order to present Islam to non-Muslims. However, it should be noted that this is hard to achieve because there’s discrimination against Muslims

Discussion Format (1½ hrs)

• 10 minutes each for both speakers to present their arguments.
• 2½ minutes each for both speakers to comment on the other speaker’s comments.
• 60 minutes for other participants to discuss and raise ideas.

NOTE: The main objective of the think tank is to develop our thinking and understanding of differing opinions
